Review from GA Theater.I had a quick hello with Brittany, the lead gal of this this new powerful soul filled group. She was very humble and full of gratitude of their new popularity. Not being very familiar with their music, it was a pleasure being surrounded by an excited crowd of all ages of friendly people. When the band took the stage on time, I was entranced watching them rock out! From the very first notes, there was energy flowing everywhere. The band was very tight and well rehearsed.. and they were fun to watch. Brittany was so into her time onstage, and the soul that bellowed from her voice matched the energy from her swinging head of curls and facial expressions to keep us all very interested in her performance. And it was a performance! From the beginning of the set, these guys fell into what seemed to be a very comfortable soulful jam session. Everyone in the band was boosting big happy smiles and fun gestures back and forth. Jams showed off many talented musicians.. and the slow ballads made me want to know the words to these new songs. The encore brought back a gracious group of musicians very pleased with the crowd reaction and loud long applause. Alabama Shakes is a band full of storytelling from the heart, and expressions from the soul not to be missed. Fred Rice
